LotBeacon — before & after, one rep, one month

Zoellner Ford pilot estimate · Sept 2026 · deliberately pessimistic
Every assumption listed below · try the interactive demo

An average rep spends roughly a third of the selling month posting to Facebook, answering DMs, retyping the same answers, and checking whether they said the right thing. Meanwhile 43% of internet leads get mishandled and the typical reply lands after 47 minutes, when the customer has already heard from someone else. LotBeacon doesn't make the rep a better closer. It makes sure every lead gets a fast, verified, on-tone reply and a booked slot, so the rep's month converts more of what marketing already paid for.

33 h → 18 h on messaging & prospecting, same lead volume. ~2 selling days.

+0.9 units from response speed, no dropped leads, two-slot booking. Close rate held flat.

At $2,400 gross/unit. Low = same volume; high = reps take on 33% more conversations with the hours they got back.

Before-hours are forum-style estimates (r/askcarsales threads and dealer trainers put "1–2 hours a day on the CRM and texts" as normal). After-minutes come from LotBeacon's own accept/edit mix in the demo, rounded up. Marketplace posting is left unchanged on purpose.

Three decision makers, three scorecards

Owner / GM

Cares about units per month, whichever vehicle sells. Then gross, then risk.

Every send is a human decision. Availability, price, financing, trade and hold claims are verified or blocked. That is the risk line an owner signs off on.

Sales reps

Care about people showing up, an above-average close rate, and time spent on what pays.

The rep keeps the relationship and every consequential promise. LotBeacon remembers, verifies, drafts in the customer's tone, and queues the next action, so the rep's hours shift from typing to showroom.

Marketing / BDC

Cares about qualified leads reaching the floor, foot traffic, and brand response on the channel.

Assumptions we chose to be conservative about

Held flat or ignored: close rate on the showroom floor (41%); Marketplace posting time; any lift from the six reply styles; any lift from the momentum tracker or buddy notes; service, referral and repeat-buyer effects. Rounded against us: assisted reply time 2.5 min (demo measures 1.5–3.0); set rate 48% (phone leads hit 75%); show rate +2 pts only. Volume: the high case assumes reps use about half the recovered hours to carry 40 conversations instead of 30, still well under the ~3× capacity the reply-time math allows. Gross: $2,400 per used unit, front + back, editable in the app's Owner dashboard. Store size: 6 reps, ~150 internet/Messenger leads per month (NADA average), 30 per rep.
